I now live in the heart of Cardinal country, which works nicely for me, being a life-long Cardinal fan. In the St. Louis paper this morning was this article about new Cards pitcher Mike Maroth, a mission that goes beyond winning at baseball.

Great story.

I am a huge Atlanta Braves fan. I love my Braves. But coming in second would be the Cards. Part of the reason for this is that while in Memphis I got to see several Redbirds games (Triple A affiliate) and came to love the team.

Growing up in Memphis, I was excited when they announced that a new stadium would be built for a new AAA team. And it is a wonderful place to visit. I've been to Bush Stadium (the old stadium...isn't there a new one now?) and the Redbirds had them beat by a landslide. It is gorgeous. If you ever get a chance to get to Memphis, catch a Redbirds game.
